With even bigger and sharper teeth than Morbius, and the same overpowering urge to kill Spider-Man, the extraterrestrial symbiote known as Venom, fell to earth in 1982.  Venom was the creation of a well intentioned Marvel fan, one Randy Schueller from Norridge, Illinois.  He sold the concept outright to then editor Jim Shuter for $220 as part of a story contest.  The character was further developed by Dave Michelinie, Mike Zeck and Todd McFarlane. A parasitic alien organism, the Venom symbiote  attached itself to Peter Parker, and to the Spider-man costume in particular, lending it a dark controlling personality all it’s own. The shape shifting Venom went on to ‘bond’ with other established Marvel characters including Mac Gargin (The Scorpion) and Flash Thompson. Venom first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #252 in May, 1984. I have added Venom to my devaintART Gallery.

Morbius

Back when the CCA (Comics Code Authority) still prohibited ‘the occult’ as a comic book subject, the very ingenious Stan Lee conceived of a ‘living vampire’ who would acquire his powers through science as opposed to the supernatural. This new character was created by Marvel editor, Roy Thomas and artist, Gil Kane.
~ Michael Morbius was a Nobel prize winning biochemist, who was afflicted with an extremely rare and incurable blood disorder. He secretly developed an experimental treatment involving electroshock therapy and vampire bat DNA. In the process of curing himself, Dr. Morbius somehow mutated into a new form with all of the traits of a classic vampire. His new powers and his quest for blood eventually brought him into conflict with number of Marvel superheros (including Spider-Man and BLADE).
Morbius first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October, 1971. I have added this illustration to my deviantART Gallery.

Werewolf by Night

Jack Russell (Jacob Russoff) was a Transylvanian-born American kid who inherited the curse of the Werewolf on his eighteenth birthday. 
His tormented life was the subject of the successful but short lived ‘early seventies’ Marvel comic, Werewolf by Night. The creative team of writer, Gerry Conway and artist, Mike Ploog developed a look and feel that was referred to by fans in the letters pages as "California Gothic".   Eventually, feeling restricted by the fact that a werewolf can appear for only three nights out of each month, a subsequent artist/writer team made changes to Jack’s character. They put him in full control of the Werewolf, giving him the abilities to think, make moral choices, speak and transform at will. They were about to make him Marvel’s first ‘Lycan Super-Hero’.
Unfortunately, the series was canceled with the 43rd issue. Werewolf by Night first appeared in Marvel Spotlight no. 2, in February, 1972. A film version of Werewolf by Night is currently in pre-production. The series' most popular supporting character, Moon Knight, went on to star in his own successful title. In the late 1800’s, following a violent incident on his family’s Estate in Alberta, Canada (during which several deaths occurred), young James Howlett fled to a mining camp in Northern British Columbia with a childhood friend. He took the name Logan, after the first victim of his newly discovered mutant powers, which included super-human strength and healing power, and large retractable claws.
Over the course of his unnaturally long life, Logan grew up with the Blackfoot Indians, lived alone in the Canadian wilderness, fought in both World Wars, was recruited as an assassin by the CIA and finally was ‘volunteered’ for the Weapon X project in which his skeleton and natural bone claws were infused with the indestructible super alloy, ‘adamantium’. He was subsequently requited by Professor Charles Xavier and joined the Xmen. I have added Weapon X to my deviantART Gallery!

Johnny Blaze

The movies may have taken a few liberties, but originally stunt motorcyclist, Johnny Blaze, sold his soul to Mephisto (one of the demons of Satan), to save his step father, ‘Crash’ Simpson from cancer. This deal eventually goes completely off the rails with interference from both good and evil forces. And the tormented Ghost Rider is born!  He first appeared in Marvel Spotlight no.5, August 1972.
Ghost Rider was co-created by Marvel editor Roy Thomas, writer Gary Friedrich and artist Mike Ploog, who to this day can’t seem to agree who came up with the different aspects of the character. I have added Johnny Blaze to my deviantART Gallery.

Medusa

Medusa’s thick red hair is six feet in length and obeys her every thought!
Medusalith Amaquelin (aka Medusa) is reigning Queen of the Kree Empire and leader of The Inhumans, a race of extraterrestrials originally from the ‘blue area of the moon’ and more recently located (among other places) in the Himalayan Mountains and on the Attilan Islands (both on Earth!). 
Medusa, Black Bolt, 'Maximus the Mad', and the rest of the Inhumans were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics in 1965. 
The Inhumans have always been both allies and enemies of The Fantastic Four and have become a mythology unto themselves within the Marvel Universe.

The Lizard

Curtis Connors was a an American battlefield surgeon who returned to the States with an amputated arm. Working as a research technologist in Florida, he developed a reptilian DNA serum which regenerated his missing limb, but also transformed him into a giant mutant Lizard! Peter Parker, in his ‘day job’ as a New York photojournalist for the Daily Bugle, discovered Dr. Connors secret and attempted to help him...  with complicated and eventually disastrous results. RoboCop

RoboCop (1987) is a modern classic SciFi Action film, directed by Paul Verhoeven (Total Recall, Basic Instinct). It is set in the chaotic and crime controlled Delta City (formerly Detroit) in the near future, The story is about a Police Officer, Alexander James Murphy (Peter Weller) who is brutally murdered and subsequently re-created as a super-human cyborg known as RoboCop. RoboCop is guided by three prime directives written into his programming: serve the public trust, protect the innocent, and uphold the law. I have added this RoboCop piece to my deviantART Gallery.

Neil Young

I have revised this Neil Young piece for my deviantART Gallery. Neil Young began performing as a solo artist in Canada in 1960, before moving to California in 1966, where he co-founded the band Buffalo Springfield. He later joined Crosby, Stills & Nash as a fourth member in 1969. 
He has released 34 studio albums in his career and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. First as a solo artist in 1995, and a second time as 

a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997.
