Wolf's eye

Before he tears off his shirt in a complete transformation,
the
wolf character will first be revealed when his eyes open in the mist.
This frame was derived from a very simple linear of a one-half segment
of the wolf's face. I just copied and reversed it to create some symmetry.
Then added some texture, tinting and a cloud filter on a transparent
screen layer for the mist.

'Maxfield' Back Cover

This is a very rough back cover design and 'high concept'
message for the new kid's book I'm currently working on.

More Martial Arts

Here are a few more frames in progress for the Jeet Kune Do
project first posted a few months ago. Drawing out a screenplay
like this can really help explain complex scenes.

Billboard Message

Here's another layout for the new kid's book. Maxfield and Chess
(our two main characters) are very much fun to draw.

Sign Studio

Here is a rough layout for a double page spread in a new story I'm
working on about a graffiti writing kid and his sign painter dad. This
sketch was done with felt pens, magic markers and prismacolor
pencils. The final art will be inked with waterproof pens and painted in
watercolors like my two previous kids books. I'll keep posting as I go.

Transformation

Here is another 'key frame' for my ongoing werewolf animation
project. We'll pull out and down from his head to create a rising
illusion as he emerges from the clock tower.
With a roaring sound
effect and digital rain in the foreground.

Storyboards & Photoshop

A blur filter on two foreground lilies and a re-purposed floral print on an otherwise grey chesterfield were two quick, easy ways to add interest and dimension to two otherwise unemarkable storyboard frames.
